Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate camp located on the edge of Shinde lagoon, teeming with animal and birdlife. The main camp's unique tree house made of a multi-tiered raised dining/lounge area under canvas, set amongst the shade of ebony and mangosteen, complements the atmosphere of this original safari camp.

This exclusive Botswana safari lodge in Africa's ideal location ensure guests can view a diverse range of bird and African wildlife. The island is favoured by members of the antelope family, including the elusive Sitatunga. Take a delta trip and discover the breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans and storks. This is a photographer's delight. Its remoteness has ensured that the innocent wildlife has not been subject to the pressures of mass tourism.

Rooms

Guests are treated to eight large, twin-bedded safari style tents with windows.  Each tent boasts an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, a shower and flush toilet. The tents boast amazing views over the grasslands and delta.

Shinde Camp commonly has developed a section of the camp for private use called The Enclave which is excellent for small Groups or Families. Here, there are three new tents, elevated on teak platforms overlooking a vast papyrus and reed expanse dotted with palm islands where frequent sightings of the elusive Sitatunga occur. Guests may reserve the Enclave section of Shinde Camp for private use.
