Laikipia, Kenya

Ol Malo is located on a 5,000 acre ranch and game sanctuary, which stretches from the plains down the Laikipia Escarpment to the Ewaso Nyiro River on the edge of Kenya's north-eastern province. The lodge is set on the edge of cliff and looks south over the deep valley, giving impressive views of the surrounding wilderness and occasionally Mount Kenya far in the distance.

The lodge is very small, catering for just eight guests at any one time in sublime comfort. Colin and Rocky Francombe, the hosts, are what really make Ol Malo special. They have lived in Kenya all their lives and are very personable and will ensure you get the most out of your stay in this peaceful wilderness. Their home is built with natural stone, with thatched roofs, overlooking a much visited waterhole.

Rooms

The four guest cottages are spread out along the cliff edge and are uniquely built out of natural rock and ancient olive wood, with thatched roofs and huge glass windows facing onto the view.  Ol Malo can take up to eight people at one time. Rooms can hold up to three people, if families wish to stay in the same room. All the cottages are different and each room offers the maximum in privacy and comfort, with huge king size beds, luxurious en-suite bathrooms and each has its own private veranda.
