Day 1-2: Kalahari Plains Camp, Central Kalahari, Botswana
On arrival at Maun Airport and after clearing customs &
immigration, you will be met by a Wilderness Safaris representative
who will assist you with the arrangements of your scheduled light
aircraft transfer to Kalahari Plains Camp.
Kalahari Plains Camp is situated in a remote part of the diverse
and productive Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR) and offers some
of the best summer wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa.
Located in the Kalahari Desert biome in the central part of
Botswana, at 5 million hectares this reserve is the largest
conservation area in the country and one of the largest in the
world. The CKGR is home to the legendary Kalahari black-mane lion
as well as some of the world's best cheetah viewing. Guided
game drives unlock the fascinating wildlife treasures found in this
wonderful arid area. Visits to Deception Valley or even further
afield are longer excursions that are well worthwhile, as the
wildlife moves to different parts of the Park.
Various Bushmen clans have thrived in this area for centuries, and
many of Kalahari Plains Camp's staff hail from this ancient people.
The camp offers an interpretive "Bushman Walk" with a couple of our
staff members, where guests gain life-changing insights into the
unique culture of this fascinating people.
Kalahari Plains comprises 10 en-suite canvas units with a
sleep-out above each from which to enjoy moonlit or star-studded
nights. The main area consists of a lounge and dining area with an
inviting swimming pool and deck area. The tents and main area are
all raised off the ground to catch the breeze and take in the
sweeping, spacious views across the Kalahari. Solar power provides
all the electricity and hot water in the camp - making Kalahari
Plains a 100% solar-powered camp - and innovative insulated canvas
walls and roof keep the temperatures inside the units

Day 3-4: Xaranna Lodge, Okavango Delta, Botswana
At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be
transferred from Kalahari Plains Camp to the appropriate airstrip
for your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Xaranna Camp - 1 hour
Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is set in a private wilderness
concession of 25 000 hectares (61 800 acres) to the southeast of
the Moremi Wildlife Reserve in the centre of one of the most unique
regions in the world, the Okavango Delta. Renowned for its lush
waterways and abundant wildlife, the Okavango is home to a number
of aquatic and land species
Like the water lily from which it takes its inspiration, Xaranna
Okavango Delta Camp nestles deep in the heart of the watery
wonderland that makes up the Okavango Delta. Reachable only by boat
during the high water season, this intimate camp with only nine
tents offers an exclusive experience steeped in the wonder and
magic of this extraordinary ecosystem.
Nine light and airy tented suites look out onto spectacular
Delta scenery. Four poster beds of blonde wood squat on bleached
floors, offering up extensive views onto the birdlife paradise
awaits. An en suite bathroom promises the luxury of a deep, warm
bath, and a refreshing shower waits either indoors or al fresco,
open to the elements. Lull your senses with the quiet splash of
nearby waters as you recline in your covered sala or get a
different perspective on life, watching the waters of the Okavango
from the cooling comfort of your own, fully sized private pool.

At Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp, the days are designed to thrill
you with intimate wildlife encounters and the nights to delight you
with the indulgence and romance of Africa. Explore the crystal
clear channels of the Delta on a mokoro or in a motorized boat.
Twice daily game drives - guests can explore the wildlife
surrounding Xaranna on morning and afternoon game drives in an open
air 4x4 safari vehicles, accompanied by an armed guide and
Interpretive bush walks - take a leisurely walk in the
surroundings of the Camp to take in the sights, smells and sounds
of the Okavango Delta, accompanied by an armed guide. Learn about
how elephant are vital to the survival of the fan palm, try to spot
the elusive Pel's fishing owl and keep a sharp eye out for the shy
River cruises in an electrically powered 'eco boat' or mokoro -
explore the waterways of the Okavango by boat in the company of our
experienced guides. Learn the fascinating details of the Delta's
network of channels, fringed by dense reeds and papyrus. A good
variety of fish can be found in the clear waters and fishing trips
can be arranged on request during fishing season (1 March to 31
December). Spot the nests of weavers and warblers in the papyrus
beds and watch out for malachite kingfishers among the taller
stems. Beautifully coloured frog species, such as the painted reed
frog, abound. Water lilies brighten up the surface of lagoons,
where sleepy hippo splash beneath the surface
Spend 2 nights at Xaranna Lodge in a luxury tented rooms
including accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house
wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees,
refreshments on game drives, scheduled safari activities, emergency
medical evacuation insurance, laundry, transfers to and from the
airstrip (where applicable).
Day 5-6: Mombo Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana
At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be
transferred from Xaranna Camp to the airstrip for your scheduled
light aircraft transfer to Mombo Camp - 15 minutes.
Mombo Camp is located in the Mombo Concession on the northern
tip of Chief's Island within the Moremi Game Reserve in the
Okavango Delta, Botswana. This area boasts enormous concentrations
of plains game and predators - providing arguably the best big game
viewing in all of Africa.
Built under large, shady trees and overlooking the floodplains
which teem with wildlife all year round, Mombo Camp comprises nine
spacious tents raised two meters from the ground. Bathrooms are
en-suite, with both indoor and outdoor showers. Magnificent vistas
are the order of the day, with all the rooms, the sala, long
veranda and lounge area all taking advantage of the very best that
the Okavango Delta has to offer. Mombo Camp's main living and
dining areas are under thatch, but a boma makes for a delicious
dinner under the stars. There is also a plunge pool in which to

concentrations of plains game and all the predators - including the
big cats. Lion sightings are frequent. Guests at Mombo Camp can

large herds of buffalo, elephant, white rhino, southern giraffe,
blue wildebeest and Burchell's zebra.
Black and white rhino have been reintroduced to the region with
outstanding success (albeit most are further away from Mombo Camp),
thanks to the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Programme.

You will be transferred from Mombo Camp to the airstrip for your
scheduled light aircraft transfer to Kasane Airport- 1 hour 40

Translated - The Smoke that Thunders - is the
local name for the Victoria Falls. The world-famous cascade of
water provides the baseline for your journey into colonial
sophistication. Its fine spray may be seen like a cloud across the
bushveld, throwing rainbows hundreds of feet in the air. On the

Day 8: Departure
