This 5 day fly-in safari offers the opportunity to experience the Southern Tanzania.  You have the opportunity to have eexcellent game viewing from game drives and boat cruises to guided walking safaris in the grass plains, wetlands, swamps and dense forests of Selous Game Reserve.  The reserve is renowned for exceptions bird life and gives you the opportunity to view the rare and endangered African Wild Dog.

Day 1: Dar es Salaam

Upon your arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport you will be met and driven to The Oyster Bay Hotel.

Despite its name, which means "abode of peace" in Arabic, Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's largest and busiest city. It is the country's most important business and commercial hub and is situated right on the Indian Ocean. It is the main port of call for most visitors as it is an ideal place from which to access both the wilderness areas and the beaches of Tanzania and Zanzibar. Most visitors en route to the better-known Tanzanian attractions are surprised by the charm of this unassuming city and find themselves yearning for more days to explore its hidden secrets. Must-see attractions include the beautiful beaches of Kunduchi, Mjimwena and Mbwa Maji, Dar es Salaam's spectacular harbour and shopping at the local markets.

Overnight at The Oyster Bay. Accommodation is in a luxury suite. Your stay is on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 2-4: Selous Game Reserve

After a wholesome breakfast you will be driven back to Dar es Salaam International airport where you will board your scheduled flight to Selous Game Reserve. Upon arrival you be driven to your choice of Beho Beho, Sand Rivers or Selous Safari Camp.

Secluded and off-the-beaten track, Selous Game Reserve offers visitors a slice of undisturbed wilderness, teeming with a spectacular array of fauna and flora. It was declared a World Heritage Site due to its dramatic landscapes and great diversity of wildlife. The Selous Game Reserve is one of the only big game reserves to allow hiking, offering wildlife enthusiasts the chance to explore Tanzania's pristine landscapes on foot. This is a superb and extremely exciting safari experience, in Tanzania's largest conservation area, and should not be missed.

Overnight for three nights at Beho Beho.  Accommodation is in a stone and palm thatched banda.  Your stay includes three meals daily, all drinks (except champagne), laundry and safari activities.  Adventures include walking safaris in the Selous, boat cruises and game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles.

Alternatively,

Overnight for one night at Sand Rivers.  Accommodation is in open fronted thatched cottage with ensuite bathroom with shower only. Your stay includes three meals daily, all drinks (except champagne), laundry, scheduled activities, picnic and bush lunches.

AND

Overnight for two nights fly-camping at Sand Rivers.  Accommodation is in a charming tent set up on a sand bank, or close to one of the lakes. The tents are draped in mosquito netting and offer comfortable safari bedrolls. Adventures include game drives, walking safaris, a boat cruise on the Rufiji River and fishing.

Alternatively,

Overnight for three nights at Selous Safari Camp.  Accommodation is in a luxury safari tent raised in a timber platform.  Your stay includes three meals daily, tea, coffee, basic laundry, all drinks (except champagne) two activities per day and park fees.  Adventures include morning and evening game drives, boat cruises and guided safari walks.

Day 5: Depart

After a delicious breakfast we wave a fond farewell as drive to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam International Airport.  Daily flights depart at 10:15 arriving at 11:35.
