Top 5 FAQ's

Below you'll find answers to the most common questions we get regarding family safaris in Africa. If you have any further questions or would like us to help you create the perfect African safari just for you, contact us today to get started.

1. What is the best family safari?

The best family safari combination is Cape Town, The Kruger Park and Victoria Falls. These are all family friendly malaria-free destinations with a wide range of activities to keep everyone happy.

2. What are the age requirements for kids?

To qualify for children's rates at the various lodges and hotels the kids need to be under 12 years old. Anyone over 12 is considered an adult - probably due to the amount of food teenagers consume :)

3. How much does an African Safari cost?

A luxury five star family safari will cost between $700 - $1,000 per person sharing depending on the age and number of kids. This is typically for an all-inclusive safari which includes meals and local drinks. A four start option can average between $500 - $700 per person sharing.

4. Do we need to take malaria medication?

It really depends on the wildlife reserve you want to visit. Africa has many excellent destinations that are 100% malaria-free and safe for the whole family without any meds. If however you are traveling to a remote destination that is known to have malaria, check the time of year and medication required. This information is available from our consultants.

5. What activities are available?

There are an abundance of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Animal encounters and walking safaris with experienced guides are a great way to learn and appreciate the wild. Adrenaline activities like shark cage diving and bungee jumping are available for adventure seekers. Water sports like snorkeling, diving and boating are a great way to enjoy sunny days and a wide variety of local tours are available in Cape Town and Victoria Falls especially.
