Honaib Skeleton Coast is located at the convergence of two tributaries in a broad valley on the dry Hoanib River in north of the Palmwag Concession. The location is one of the most remote in the Kaokoveld. The Camp consists of one family tent and seven large tents. Each tent comprises an en-suite bathroom with shaded outdoor decks.
The Camps ideal location in the Kaokoveld boasts the best viewing of desert-adapted wildlife and access to the remote, vast and isolated wilderness.
Enormous elephant, giraffe, lion and brown hyaena miraculously thrive in this stark environment. The iconic Gemsbok, springbok and steenbok can also be seen. The birding in the Kaokoveld is diverse with frequent spottings of Benguela long-billed lark and Ruppells korhaan.
Honaib Skeleton Coast offers a diverse range of activities. Game drives depart in the morning and afternoon but are also available as full day excursions. Nature walks from the camp into the magnificent surrounds are an excellent way to view smaller creatures and provide many interesting photographic opportunities.
Full-day excursions to the Skeleton Coast are offered via 4x4, taking you into the wilderness and wildlife of the Hoanib River and floodplain. Day trips are also available to the Desert Oases, which provide a fascinating respite from the dry surrounds.
