Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyati Wildlife Reserve of Northern Botswana and is named for Scandinavian royalty. The Camp overlooks an oxbow-shaped lagoon and provides exquisite accommodation with nine luxurious tents.
The Linyati Wildlife Reserve has an abundance of wildlife for Kings Pool guests to view, but is most noted for it's vast elephant population which can be best seen in the dry winter months. Additional wildlife that can be viewed on daily game drives include but not limited to Impala, Kudu, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Spotted Hyena. For birdwatchers the variety is spectacular with many waterways and surrounding vegetation making for excellent photographic opportunities.
Kings Pool provides morning and afternoon game drives in open top 4x4 vehicles, typically Land Rovers, which accommodate up to seven guests, each with their own viewing window. Night drives with spotlights allow for nocturnal animal viewings.
Should you request nature walks, armed guides are available and allow you to get up close to nature and observe other small details often missed on a vehicle. There are two hides in the vicinity which provide excellent photographic opportunities of animals and birds.
Barge cruises along the Linyati River can also be arranged on the colonial-style Queen Sylvia barge. These cruises are best experienced at sundown with numerous and diverse animal and bird species drawn to the river, especially in the dry winter months.
