The highlight of the Okonjima Camp is the cheetah and leopard safaris. The camp is situated halfway between the Etosha National Park and the capital Windhoek, in the 55,000 acre Okonjim Game Reserve, home of the AfriCat Foundation.
The AfriCat Foundation rehabilitates cheetah, wild dogs and leopards, creating opportunities to see these magnificent carnivores in their natural setting. AfriCat provides a rehabilitation environment for these large carnivores to hone their hunting skills in a 20,000 hectre nature reserve. They learn to become self-sustaining before potentially returning their natural environment.
Okonjima offers a variety of accommodation from The Grand African Villa to Private Bush Suites and Camps.
The Grand Villa overlooks a natural waterhole and is situated in a secluded wilderness area. The villa boasts two separate luxury suites with chic, en-suite bathrooms.
The Private Bush Suites are nestled in the open Acacia with the Omboroko Mountains in the background. The Bush Suite has two luxury en-suite bedrooms under a magnificent thatched roof.
The Luxury Bush Camp is an African-style thatch chalet with semi-detached open lounge. Each chalet is completely private and equipped with 2 queen size beds.
